The Torgoen T16, one of the most popular pilot watches models (and choice of Richard Branson), is a great example of Torgoen’s appeal. It was created in memory of R.J. Mitchell (1895 – 1937) an English aeronautical engineer who designed many aircraft. Mitchell is best remembered for designing the legendary Second World War fighter, the Supermarine Spitfire.

Like all Torgoen's watches the T16 It is inspired by aviation and cockpit instruments, The T16 really started to gain its Worldwide popularity after Richard Branson told a reporter that he wears a T16 "because of its pretty look" in Wall Street Journal interview
Loyal to all Torgoen signature watches, the T16 has a clean look dial and is designed for ease of read, with large, luminescent digits and markers that can be clearly viewed even in the dark. The sophisticated chronograph movement is made by Ronda, a highly regarded Swiss movement manufacturer, and can measure time between two events with a resolution of 1/10 of a second and up to 30 minutes.
The T16 is encased in a high grade (316L), solid stainless steel case and shielded by a scratch resistant, Sapphire crystal lens. A double “O” ring crown gives the T16 its water resistance protection: up to 100 meters under water. The fine Italian vintage leather strap with heavy duty solid stainless steel buckle offers not just an elegant look, but also great comfort and durability.
At Torgoen, we feel that this incredible timepiece is worthy of Mitchell’s legacy of "simplicity" and "efficiency." Or, as Mitchell, himself, once said, “if anybody ever tells you anything about an aeroplane which is too bloody complicated for you to understand, take it from me: it's all balls.” In his spirit, this vintage pilot watch is simple, well crafted and timeless.
